Good evening snmp-users,

i am learning snmp at my university and my project is the snmp monitoring tool: 'Cacti'.

I have two questions at the moment:

Does Cacti support SNMP Queries @ IPV6?
-> The answer i got is "no, we need funds to develop this"

Is that right?

Can i add Hosts with IP@PORT?
-> I have a list with hosts and services, for example XX.XX.XX.30 and XX.XX.XX.30:305. The host with port throws "snmp error".

Do i need to use a special syntax or is this just dumb and every service uses the same snmp-agent? In the objectslist the x:port target has its own name and function.

Thanks a lot!

Greeting,

1. Little surprised with this. cacti uses net-snmp which I believe supports IPv6(could be wrong). Maybe there is some hooks that are needed?

2. Every snmp agent by default uses port 161. Not sure exactly what you are asking, rephrase?
