I have a number of clients connected to the internet through a proxy server that requires an ID and password. Some of the users are able to have IE5 save their ID and password so that it appears in the password window whenever they need to log on to this server and in some the window comes up with no information in it each time. It makes no difference if you check the box to save this password in your password list. Does anyone have any ideas what might be missing or different on the non-caching machines?

I would strongly recommend that your users spend 15 seconds each session typing their username and password in, else any old Fred and Wilma can go to their machine and use their Internet ID and password.

Yes, their machine will have to be logged in with the screensaver off, but why take the risk? Why Micrisift ever introduced that stupid tick box is beyond me. Just proves that they don't give a darn about security.

"It's true, its darn true!"
