Hi,

I am having quite trouble making the network in my home. So i have switch and from switch cables run through walls to sockets i have used standard A to make cables from switch to cat socket but then when i connect computer to socket it doesnt work, a friend of mine made a cable but its interesing since i have to change to 10 Full duplex on computer in order to work correctly on that cable other cables that i bought doesnt work at all!!! So i need you help what to do? How to make connectors (colors) from switch to wall socket and from socket to a computer or whatever it is?

Thank you

The easiest way to handle this is to remember that a straight-through cable is used from switch to computer NIC. Whether you use the 568A or B standard is immaterial...just make sure that you're using the same standard throughout the entire run.

One way to troubleshoot this would be to bring the switch close to your computer, then use the purchased cable as your "run" from the network card to the switch. I'd be interested in seeing if you still have those weird 10M full duplex type problems. If not, then you will need to revisit your wiring end-to-end.

Sounds like to have a cable that is terminated as a crossover. One side is on a jack the other is a plug. You need to do one or the other.

I really need your help so i am going to be just like a begginer...

Im going to post the connection i have (and colors)

Switch - Brown BrW Blue BlW Orange OrW Green GrW
Socket - Brown BrW Blue BlW Orange OrW Green GrW

And cables with standard straight-though

So this is not working what is wrong with this?

rocksonte....make your cable and socket ends as followed.
wh/or or/wh wh/gr bl/wh wh/bl gr/wh wh/br br/wh. both
ends of cables.

dagwoodsystems sorry i forgot to reply, yes it works just fine on whatever connection i choose on PC

Forgive me, but I think there might be a small language barrier here. Let me say it a different way.

Does everything work when you use A FACTORY MADE CABLE directly between your computer and the switch? If the answer is:

YES, then you need to fix your inside wiring.
NO, then you have a problem with hardware.
