Hello

I will be attempting to make some crossover and Ethernet cables. I got everything purchased but someone has told me that I need male and female RJ45 connectors. Is this true? All I got is male connectors.

Thanks

if you are just connecting device to device, then all you should need is the male connectors.

I also had the same question. So if I would like to connect router to router via ethernet and than tonthe switch and from there to pc i would need male connectors. Does the same thing apply for T1 crossover cables?

If you are making your own crossover cables remember that the pin outs are different for Ethernet vs T1
ethernet cross 12 and 36
T1 cross pins 12 and 45
