Hello,
Please help me debunk a rumor...

I heard that companies share your cable modem line with others in the same area, no big deal, but they do this by splitting up the bandwidth that you pay for, and are supposed to get. Is this true?

If so, what proggie can I use to constantly track my connection download/upload times, if I wanted to go after my cable modem provider in court?

Thanks!

Cable is a "shared" system by its very nature, so I doubt you have any case to speak of. There are a number of sites, dslreports.com for one, which link to places that will rate your speed.
