Cable Modem to NIC With WIN ME

When I start a browser either IE or Netscape and start selecting different links data transmission stops. I have started pinging a site and watching what happens and everythng seems to be fine for a couple links or whenI start a query from a site, then all the sudden the ping's start timing out. I have to close the browser and wait about 10 seconds and everything comes back.. Can anyone tell me why or what to do aboutit?

Have you altered your TTL or RWIN settings? If so what were they changed to?
