Cable Modem resets while downloading

Whenever I am downloading thru bittorrent peer client and I start to surf through the IE browser at the same time, the US Robotics cable modem resets. The DL/Upload widow only says 10k/sec DL. The data reveive LED on the modem is solid constantly when DL...any ideas?


I hate to call Cablevision and get a service rep in India reading a script...just too painful.

Search yahoo on this subject. Cable Internet providers are currently under investigation by the FCC for resetting connections when downloading from P2P sites. They say torrent downloaders are hogging bandwidth and that is why they do it. If you can switch to DSL do it they are not preventing downlaods. This may be your exact issue.
