I recently reconnected a cable modem to my system. The Enet light keeps flashing rapidly on it,in turn causes the router ACT light to flash as well. This is a constant blink. All other LEDS indicate a good connection to ISP,and good link to router. However something is preventing me to connect on-line.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It sounds as if it is failing MAC authentication.

If the modem has been switched off, but plugged in, unplug the modem for a full minute. Then plug it back in to force a re-read of your computer's MAC address.

If you are going to a router, you might want to clone the MAC address of your principal PC (see Ipconfig /all for the "physical address") and then follow the unplugged modem, wait, etc.. routine.
