Cable modem and DSL Modem

Hi...on my cable modem i noticed that you can move it to any location that has a service provider of the same company as the isp. Can you do the same for DSL? i just wanted to go to another location and use the modem..will it work?

DSL is dependant on the TELEPHONE NUMBER being activated to DSL BB and linked to a specific ISP.

If you went to a house which had BB with the same ISP as you, you MAY be able to use it (depending on any restrictions the ISP has setup).
