I am looking into different types of relay rack cable management systems. I would like to know what types and manufactures of these products you would recommend.

All links and posts would be appreciated.

My preferance are the Panduit finger duct type. I like there new one with the rounded 'fingers' for the horizontal (I use only 2U managers) and the 6"x6" for the vertical. I just like the way that they look when finished more than others.

I've tired something similar from Ortronics, and wasn't very impressed. On some of our switches, they wouldn't work at all because of the edging on the switch. Also, I found that it made access to patch panels difficult when fully populated.

Those space savers are great on the back of the rack, but I like to have a a little more spread on the front, can be hard to read labels on the top row of a panel if you bunch them like their literature shows. However, they are the best cable managers for the horizontal on the back of the rack.

I wish DataTel had better vertical managers, but for horizontal I like the HCM-2D gives plenty of room especially if you divide your panels in quadrants (front and back). The 2D gives you vertical d-rings as well as horizontal.

DataTel’s racks go together easier than most, and the screws go in easily, something Chatsworth seems to have a problem with on their powder coated racks, anyone else have that problem?

I've only had a problem with one Chatsworth rack, and that was about 6 years ago. I had to tap every hole, including the bolt holes that you use to assemble the rack. And of course we needed to use about 40 out of the 42 RU's. But nerry a problem since.
