Hello,

We are planning to install 16 Blade Servers with attached SAN; with this I need to know about its backup through ArcServe on IBM TS3310 library.
What exactly options and agents are need to install for SAN backup from below; Number of blade servers are 16 attached to SAN; details on best practices and number of licensing for this solution?

Tape Library Option
SAN Backup Option
CA Server less Option

Thanks
MA

If the library is direct attached you can get a Windows Client Agent license for each system and back them up over the LAN.

If the library is SAN attached you can do the above or install ARCserve on each system and configure them as Member servers to the ARCserve Primary server and share the library with each doing its own backup.

NOTE: it is not a given that backup over the SAN is always faster, it may or may not be faster depending upon the configuration.
