hi there, I know your all busy guys but i really need your suggestions about my predicament.

I have CA BAB r12 for PC A and then I want to backup PC B.

I want to backup PC B since PC is my Exchange Server.

When i tried to do that, i can't see PC B on the list of

machines where source files are going to select.

I really need your suggestions guys.

Manually browse the network or manually insert it in preferred shares/machine.

Of course you can't see exchange architecture without exchange agent.

Install the Windows Client Agent and the Exchange DB Agent on the target system.

The install can be run from any system since it supports remote installations.

Both agents licensed at the ARCserve Server.

If you don't want to use agents then Exchange has to be brought down prior to the backup as explained above.

yes, i already installed the Client Agent and the DB Exchange Agent, but still i can't see the machine.

When i tried to backup PC A using PC B, it was successful. But when i tried to backup PC B using PC A, i can't find PC B on the list.

okay guys, i manually added the machine on the .28 under the "Network" group.

But i realized that there could be a better way to to do the assigning of that machine, so i decided to put PC B under Windows System.

When i put it, it prompts a message saying "The IP address of the computer seems to be not correct. Would you like to add this agent?"

I add the machine however i can't access it.

Any idea guys about this problem?

mmm, can't translate system name to IP address.

try adding the system into a host file to verify that system A is seeing it correctly.

PC A can see the PC B correctly with its correct IP Address, but when i tried to choose it and put on the list, it will only say "The IP Address of the machine is seem to be not correct. Would you like to add the machine?"

And if i add the machine, then access it, it will also prompt a message saying, "cannot log in to the agent."

When adding the agent de-select Use Computer Name Resolution and add the IP address for the target system.

thanks sir David for your suggestions, its now working.

I am now having problem on how to perform a brick level backup.

I've been searching for some videos and articles about it, but unfortunately, haven't found one.

Maybe i will search this forum and hopefully i can get one thread discussing it.

Thanks again Sir David and Sir Fabio.
