I believe the M8 will only work for lines 001 to 008 on the KSU. For trunk modules, my understanding is that you will need a CI card or cards.

I dont think you can.
I believe the firmware on the M8 (C6 for 6X16) is told to talk with ports 1 to 8.
It would be nice to know if that's true or not.

The M8's are rare and expensive , you could probably get a 3 CLID cards for the same price or less.
