Dear all, do you experienced this:

We have two C6509 in our back bone which have absolutely the same hardware config.
The IOS level is:
"Cisco IOS Software, s72033_rp Software (s72033_rp-ADVIPSERVICESK9_WAN-M), Versio
n 12.2(33)SXH2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
Technical Support: Copyright (c) 1986-2008 by Cisco Systems, Inc.
Compiled Sat 29-Mar-08 13:27 by prod_rel_team

ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 12.2(14r)S1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)"

We have the second C6509 reloading itself twice on a sunday (no traffic at all). There was no power cut detected.

Thanks

Obviously you should not have experienced this problem. Your best bet as always in these types of situations is to open a case with TAC. To speed up resolution undoubtedly they'll be asking for things from you like a copy of the "show tech" and the syslog output if you have it. Also, you may want to check your flash to see if you have accumulated any crash files.

Post a sh log---I agree with the TAC thing, though, if they are under SmartNet...

do a 'show ver'

it will tell you why the device rebooted at the top..

That may give you "due to hardware failure" or "due to shutdown by console", etc. Good point.

Who has 6509s that aren't under Smartnet?? Not to hijack the thread, but if you can't afford Smartnet on a 6500, you can't afford a 6500. :)

I have a few customers, actually...I totally agree with you. It never ceases to amaze me...
