C2980G new connection messages

I have a C-2980G switch that is getting bombed (console connected only) with messages like this:

What gives? I did a clear config all, set config mode text nvram, wr mem, and still the messages appear. I cannot seem to set int sc0 ip address/mask, set int sc0 enable (in other words, I cannot set it to telnet to it), and I also did set logging console disable, set spantree disable all, and still the messages...

What gives? Vipergg---ever see this?

Can't say I have seen that . Normally config mode is binary. It allows you to clear the config but not set int sc0 ??? Thats strange . It almost sounds like its trying to pull its address off the network . How is the config register set ? Should be 0xf .

It lets me set the IP, but I cannot telnet to it (like I can my production 2980G). I cannot really read the config with those messages flying past. I have a few spare boards I might just RMA this bad boy. These are some of my favorite switches---solid as a diamond!

Do a show int , does it show its set to sc0 ? Its not set to me1 is it ? Try doing a set int me1 down , also set int sl0 down . Then try to reload it .
