Maybe free is not really free. A novel concept.

'free' speech vs 'free' beer.

Chris.

Indifference will be the downfall of mankind, but who cares?
Time flies like an arrow, however, fruit flies like a banana.

Free for all vs. free-for-all

True many of them are getting trickier with the install scripts as far as moving buttons around, but I don't have that many issues, personally, when I go to some of them:
1. FileHippo.com - they do have annyoing ads on the site, and they do often have other things like the ask toolbar with downloads. But that said, so does Adobe.com if you download flash player there. The one at Adobe seems to rotate, most commonly offering the Google toolbar which seems the most benign.

2. FilePuma.com seems to be pretty good, not perfect. I've been using it in recent months, after noticing Glary Utilities pointing there.

3. Major Geeks - you can find stuff you can't really find otherwise. They host some of the files themselves as well. Yeah, some may have extra installers, but that's on a per app basis. I've installed many from there. Also, notice they have more than one download link, typically. You need to be careful which links you click.

Ninite is great, but doesn't always have the latest version of all the applciations, which is understandable for sure. It also does not include some apps that I wish it did. For instance, I believe it did once include CCleaner, but no longer does (and I think that was because of a request from Piriform, though I could easily be corrected on that - going from old memory).

"But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 15:57

File Hippo + Major Geeks I agree with those two sites and use them often for downloads.
Also - Bleeping Computer has clean sources.
