Is there a C++.net compiler (command-line or otherwise) available anywhere for free - legally :) ?

Thanks!

James,

Yes, but the person who needs it just wants a compiler, not an IDE...

Thanks,

And to my knowledge, you still can't create web applications with C++.net

You might have better luck with the compiler question in the C++ forum.

Jack,

Thanks - I didn't know there was one!

Oooo, I just assumed there would be one actually.

btw, which version of C++.net are you planning on using?

If you're going to get a compiler (and sorry, not sure where ms's one would be without getting vs.net 2k3), make sure its the one from vs.net 2k3. With that release, microsoft is 98% compatible with the C++ standard (they were only in the 80%-89% range with previous compilers, including vs.net 2002).

It'll give you the most flexibility and feature set.
