Hi All, we are on CM 1.3 and recently set up one (1) 4620 phone. We have 4 C-LAN boards, used for Intuity Audix, CMS, and administration via ASA.

In the documentation, Avaya says that prior to CM 2.0, there is a round-robin algorithm which can result in a skewed distribution of endpoints among available C-LANs.

To make a long-story short, it seems that after the 4620 registers, about 10 minutes later, the CMS link will go down--the 4620 is using the CMS C-LAN as its CallSv, even though the IP address configured is another C-LAN board. Can anyone tell from my description what the problem is? Thanks! [ponder]

The first thing that you need to do is isolate your CLANs into their own Network Region. This helps define to the PBX which CLANs can be used for what, especially VOIP calls.

If you disp ip-interfaces, check to see what the network region is set to for each CLAN board (second column from the right). You'll probably notice that they are all set to Region 1, which is telling the PBX that it can use any board for call control. Once you have isolated your CLANs for VOIP handling, this should help your issue. I would also recommend isolating each other CLAN for their specific function, CMS, Intuity, ASA, etc.

Now the sticky part is trying to explain how to setup a region. I've only done this a couple of times and that was with the assistance of an Avaya SS. But, I hope this will get you started down the right path.
