c-isam 7.x and 5L 1

would i be able to configure and run c-isam 7.x on 5L or higher? Is c-isam still available and supported with 5L or, i only need to install C packages to activate c-isam?

We are currently using c-isam 7 on aix 4.2.0.0 and we want to upgrade the server from the j40 model to a higher pseries model on aix 5L or higher. BUt we are stuck on whether we still could use c-isam as the DBMS. I been trying to find documents containing related issues but have not found one.

Here is the Informix support map from IBM:

Based on the map looks like c-isam would be supported under 5.1 via 4.3.3 binary compatibility, but don't take my word on it. For a definite answer go here:
