Hello,

Got a version 7.0 Compact ICS with one CID trunk card and eight T7316 digital sets. When I try to dial any 7 or 10 digit local number from line 1 the system announces "you have dialed an invalid feature access code".

All calls made from lines 2-4 go through okay. Have tried flip-flopping lines 1 and 2 to troubleshoot and the problem follows the line 1 position in the system, not the C.O.

Also tried dialing out from a buttset on line 1 - no trouble.

Checked every system program I can think of including restrictions, line pool access codes, dialing plan, etc. Have also copied trunk/line data from line 2 to line 1 without success.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance, Lanny

I would start by coping line 2 programming to line 1 by using the copy command. Then test

Except for the built-in automated attendant, the system doesn't speak out loud. The message you hear is most likely a recording from the telco.

Anyway, it might help to know how you make calls. Do you:
[ul]
[li]Press a line button and start dialing?[/li]
[li]Press an Intercom button and start dialing?[/li]
[li]Press a line pool button and start dialing?[/li]
[li]Press the Handsfree button and start dialing?[/li]
[li]Pick up the handset and start dialing?[/li]
[/ul]

Thanks for the quick replies.

hawks - I've tried copying trunk/line data from 2 to 1. Is there other line programming I should try copying?

norstarboy125 - the dialed number shows up then disappears when the announcement plays.

Thanks Multimedium - we're pressing a line button then dialing out. The display indicates that we're using line 1. Same with lines 2-4. The volume of line 1 is much lower than 2-4. The voice we are hearing is the "Nortel Lady". Of course the C.O. might have the Nortel Lady too. The built-in AA is set to off. Think maybe we need to try another C.O. card?

Great.

You can rule out pretty much everything on the programming side: access codes, dialing options, hotline, routing and so on. Pressing a line button overrides all those features.

It still leaves restrictions, but you can rule them out, too. You would see "Restricted Call" on the display it they were causing the problem.

Absolutely.

The volume issue you are having on the first line of the CI cartridge may prevent some DTMF digits from being properly recognized by the CO switch.

I forgot to mention…

You can also try to move the cartridge to the other slot. If the problem follows the cartridge, the problem is indeed with the cartridge.

Could you F*0 the line button just to be sure it is in fact Line 001 and not something else providing access to the line. As mentioned above the CICS does not provide audio errors. Therefore it must be the telco providing the error message.
