Running Windows ME. Everytime the computer starts normally, the C: drive folder pops up. If you close this window, it will cause the computer to hang and not let you do anything. You can click on icons on the desktop but not open them. If you hit the Start menu to shut down the start icon clicks in but the menu doesn't open and then you can't do anything except move the mouse curser around. When you do the hard boot to bring the system back up it goes through the scandisk and the computer starts up fine WITH OUT the C: drive folder popping up, thereby letting the system run normally. ALSO If you leave the C: folder up and open another program then close the c: folder, the system works until you close the new program... The problem seems to get transfered to the next open program untill all open windows are closed. Is there a place in an ini file or a specific place in the registry where It calls for the C: folder to pop up on startup? Help
