but for $40 you can get the learning edition of Visual C++ at a university. I hate Microsoft, but the nice thing about VC++ is the color coding of keywords and syntax help that it provides. Of course you can get color coding from a text editor like Programmer's File Editor (available free at <A HREF="
), but you won't get the syntax help (and the nice GUI which does come in handy). The downside is VC++ takes up a lot of space on your hard disk.<br>
