I have downloaded the source for Xpdf and now I need to get it compiled on our AS400. Their configure script cannot find a C compiler. It is looking for either CC, GCC or CL commands but can't find any of them. When I look on the IFS in the bin directory I don't see these commands. But I know both the C and the C++ compilers are installed.

Can someone point me in the right direction for compiling C/C++ programs on the AS400. I am a RPG and Java programmer so this is all new for me.

Thanks,
Jon Mitchell

I discovered that you can download GCC and run in on the AS400 in QShell as long as you have PASE installed. PASE basically let you run AIX stuff in OS400.

I still couldn't get Xpdf to compile though. So I switched and got Ghostscript working through PASE, instead.
