C++ Compiler for AIX

Hi there fellows gurus,


Would be extremely grateful if anyone could help me to determine the rite C++ compiler for AIX. Currently, the AIX vendor installed Visual Age. Is that the only compiler available for AIX ? I do know that we can use G++ for a SUN machine. Can i use the G++ compiler for AIX ? Besides, does anyone have a good source of reference for the Visual Age compiler in terms of commands,syntax,etc.

For aix you can use VisualAge C++ or C++ V6!

You could also use gnu.gcc-2.95.3.0 / gnu.gcc.g++-2.95.3.0

If you use the gcc compiler make sure it is part of the AIX toolbox. Compilers are optimized for specific architectures and using the gcc compiler downloaded from gnu.org may not give you the results with the compiler on the AIX toolbox for Linux support.
