C# and SQL Server

Hi,
I'm running win 2k server with SQL server 2000, I have a client pc with XP pro and MSDE installed and need the user to be able to connect C# standard to the SQL server 2000.

C# keeps telling me that it can only connect to the MSDE so how can I then connect to the server?

I'm very new at this area of SQL

try the C# forum. you likely do not have your connection string set up correctly

FYI

i got the MSDE to connect to the SQL server by editing the setup.ini file and then connecting c# to the MSDE, then could replicate SQL server to a DB on the MSDE - very interesting, anyone else done anything similar?
