Hi,

My Norton Internet Security tald me
'124785.exe is attempting to access the Internet.'
it is is in C:\124785.exe.
What is this? Can I simple delete it?

Something as odd as that (nothing from Google - both EXE and FOLDER) is potentially only the tip of the iceburg. Could be a trojan, worm, or ?


Suggested steps:

Load and/or update to the latest versions of Spybot and Adaware and run them both:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan

Run several second opinion online antivirus scans (and disable current tool). Suggest Housecall and Panda.

Run a (trailware) trojan scanner such as "The Cleaner" from Moosoft.

Identify anything that was found and post a HiJackThis log.
