Can someone please explain what the "e" means in this statement? Thanks.

It has no meaning at all. It is just a name for the parameter. Change it to xxxABC if you want but also change all references yo it in the procedure.

Like John says, it's a variable of type System.EventArgs, for use inside your event handler.
