Does anyone know of a way to eliminate the need for
selecting OK or pressing ENTER when a PC is logging
on to the Windows network?
We installed an application server, which sits in a
corner. We would prefer not to have a keyboard &
monitor connected to it, as it is not needed. The
machine simply gathers information and sends it to
a laser printer periodically. However, if it should
lose power & reboot, it will sit at the Windows
sign-on screen. Once logged-in, the programs starts
itself in Windows START UP.

So long as the system isn't logging onto an NT domain, this will work.

Go to Network properties in the Control Panel. Change the primary network logon to Windows logon. Click OK and let the computer reboot. The only note is your username must not have a password on it and make sure you do not have user profiles enabled (control panel - passwords - user profiles). The system should then boot into windows without a logon screen and still have access to/from your MS clients.
