when I open access it automatically stats the opening form. I want to be able to access the tables. I was told that if you hold down shift when you open the mdb file this stops this and gives you access to the tables, forms and queries. However, I've emailed myself a copy of a db I wrote at home to my works machine. Now all i get is a warning that the file contains macros and could be unsave, when I click the option to open anyway (i know it's safe because I wrote it) it just opens the strtup form and I can't access the queries, forms etc.

How can i get past this? I'm using Access 2003.

To bypass the startup form:

Hold the shift key down when you click the option to open from the macro warning dialog.

To prevent the warning there is a setting (I think it is under the tools options menu, but I don't have 2003 on my current machine so I can't say exactly where it is.)

Hope this helps.

you are a star! Thanks, i knew there had to be a way but couldn't find it.
