Hi!
We are using novell 5,0 and some of the staff are using laptops (windows xp) both at home and at work. When we install the novell client the client keeps popping up even if they are not connected to the server. Is there a way install the novell client and let win xp start up without this occouring?

Do you have NetWare printers or static drives mapped? This could cause the client to keep popping up. -----------------------------------------------------

If the OS is XP you will always get a logon box. By installing the Novell client it has disabled the autologon portion of XP. So, the user will have to login to "workstation only" when disconnected.
There is a way to set up autologon through the registry. I don't remember the number of the TID, but the title says "The Ultimate Autologon...". You can do it various ways, but I do not recommend it. It defeats security.
