Posted this in the wrong place the first time...

I built a report using CR XI using ODBC Connections. Works fine on its own, but it prompts for username and pw the 1st time report is run. The users want to call the report through a 3rd party app. Works fine to call it, prompts for my parameters just fine. After you enter the parameters, when it goes to run the report, errors out saying:

CRW Error: logon failed
Details: Cannot find DSN in connection string:-2147189176: True

I have set the System DSN in ODBC connections with the password there.

I created the report using the SA account. The users run the report via their accounts.

How do I bypass login or make it trust what is in the dsn entry?

I have unchecked the "Verify on First Refresh" option in report options and am still prompted for a login.

I am having a very similar problem with a Crystal report linking to an Access database. Did you manage to find a resolution? Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks, Sarah.

You mention you are using a 3rd-party application to run the report. Who is the vendor? Why not ask for their tech support?

Thanks for your comment IdoMillet - for my example I do work for the support team of the 3rd party application! We have looked into this, but have been unable to find a resolution. Thought it was worth posting the query though...
