I have no console access and one of my sysadmins changed logintimes to 5 (so that Friday is the only valid login day). This change was supposed to be made to loginretries. There was no specific setting for root so now even root cannot login until Friday. I know I can easily change it the day after tomorrow but I want to know if there's a way to get in sooner?

Thanks!

From remote, no.

Are you running ssh? It may or may not obey that file. You could try scp'ing it off, editing it, and scping it back in.
