i'm new at creating movie clips in flash, and i'm stumped. i've created a little dragable menu bar for my bands website with links in the menu titled "band, links, audio..." my goal is to have this little movie clip drag around the screen and the user can select where they want to go through this navigational movie clip.. my problem is that the button actions do not work once i make the movie clip. they work fine up until i make the movie clip... i can drag the navigation bar all around the screen, the up and over states on the buttons work fine.. but the actions such as "go to and play frame 2" will not work.. please help
(post or email at george@twoweeks.net) to see what i'm talking about go to

Is your .fla available? Post the url where we can download it or zip it to me at francoisgill@hotmail.com
One other question... What results are you expecting from clicking on the menu items? Open a new browser window? Open in the same browser window? Or do you intend to use frames?

;-)

HI

If you're targeting frames in your main movie you have to use a TELL TARGET command. Have a look at this:

and you can read the .fla at

Basically, to target Frame 30 in the main timeline from a button within any movie-clip you put in the following:

On (Press)
Begin Tell Target ("../")
Go to and Stop (30)
End Tell Target
End On

Hope it helps
