I have an interface-image I created using PS6, and I would like to use Flash5 to make the buttons animated, is it possable??
Keep in mind that the button links (in the form of a remote control) is part of the entire image (the image is like a remote control and a TV set, where the TV set is the place where the HTML pages appear)...
How can select a paticular button and make it have this effect: when the mouse goes over it and clicks it the button goes down, and when the mouse clicks another button that button goes down, but the previous button goes back up...is that doable??
Thanks ppl...:) I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

yes, very doable. the thing is, if your remote control is only one graphic, you will have to break it up into one graphic for each button.

you can use invisible buttons to control one graphic. But I too wuld break the image up and add some roll overs etc

Hi, thanks for getting back...
Can you guys give me a step by step direction on how to break my image apart?? Or, if you can point me to a tutorial that shows me tha?? I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

don't know of a tutorial for that. maybe on photoshop.org

1) Make a copy of your interface image and flatten it

2) Draw out guide's that section off all the bits that you want to behave separately. i.e.: buttons etc.

3) Select the 'Rectangular Marquee' tool and copy out all the sections and save them as separate files, once this is done convert to .jpeg

4) Import to flash and there you go

If you keep the names similar, e.g.: 001.jpg, 002.jpg etc. flash will recognise them as a set and ask if you want to import all.

Also, if you want up, down, over states of your button you may want to do these in photoshop to and import them in the same way. Then, when you create a button in flash place each image in it's relevant state.

Hope this helps....

Thanks for the input, i'll try to implement them tomm...
Bye... I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

funkymonk, whas up?? I tried your technique, but I couldn't do it...this is wha I did:

1) In PS6, I flattened the image
2) I copied the buttons portion in a new file and made them all into *.jpg files (I called the button 001, 002, 003, etc...)
3) I opened the interface in FLASH5, and then opened the button images (the 001, 002, 003, etc...) but those jpg's opened in a new file...i even made sure that the image was a movie selection...

Any other ideas?? Thanks... I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

So your saying you couldn't import your button images into flash? or that you couldn't import them into the same movie as your interface? Can't see why not, did you have a frame selected before you went to file/import?
