Button to Mail Merge Current Record doesn't work for 1st Rec

I have a command button on my form to open an instance of Word and perform a mail merge based on a query which compares the contents of a control on my form with a field in my query. It works great for the current record unless that current record happens to be the first record in my form.

Is there something I am missing. This is my first Database project and I intend on shipping it to end clients so I don't want to do a quick and dirty workaround of not using the first record.
