I haveing an issue where when i flopped two phones one of their buttons changed to

Type: Line
Value: Use Line 282

Line 282 is the line for that phone but i can't figure out why its appearing as a button.

Anyone have any ideas?

If the phone types are different then all the buttons will default to original programming, meaning that if the target line you have assigned was moved to another button, it would then default to it's original location if the set type has changed.

The programming isn't in the phone, it is in the system and moving a phone without moving the cross connect to the phone won't work as labeled.

I had one site that the people keep moving around on there own and then wondered why know one could call them, they would say to me the number on the phone doesn't work and I would look at the BCM Monitor and tell them the real DN they where calling from.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Is there any way to remedy the issue?

You need to go into programming on the effected DN and make line 282, Ring Only instead of Appear and Ring.
