I am fairly new to the program using Flash 4, but soon to have Flash 5.
Question: When movie clips are added to buttons in the "over" frame, is there a way for them to continue to play to the last frame even after the user moves their mouse off the button? It looks terible when the clip disappears suddenly.

A few questions for ya! Is it the button itself that animates or are you starting(loading) another movie on your mouseover event? How are you setting actions: in button edit or modifying an instance of your button on the stage?
How long is your movie clip? Does it loop? Should it stay visible when it's finished?
A lot of questions... but I too, am trying to learn Flash through problems others have!

;-)

The button itself animates. The actions for the movie clip (button animation) are only as a result of the default "over" frame of the button edit mode. The Actions used in the instance properties are only to advance to a different scene. The button animation is only about 2 seconds long. It is very basic. It does not loop. All the animation is is a thumbnail image, when the user moves their mouse over the pic, a label slides out to the right of it and displays the file name. I was hoping I could set the actions somehow so that when the user moves their mouse away, the label would reverse itself and slide back under the thumbnail, not just disappear. I wanted to keep it simple while I tried to tackle this problem. Hope this helps. I appreciate the response.
