I have a button that I took a png image, imported it into photoshop, then cut a background piece for it that has about 50% transparency...whenever I try and click on the button in flash, it doesn't run the actionscript that I assigned it...is there any explanation for this?

Yes, I have an assigned script...it's for another site I am creating...the border of the button is a type of future/tech feel...and the inside, I have it a 50% Transparent blue, and it's set as a button.

Whenever I place an instance on my scene, I can assign any script I want like a normal button, but when I play it, well...it basically tells me to sit on that same actionscript and rotate...(doesn't work)

The script is for it to play an MC...I have the EXACT same script on another button for test purposes, and it works................quit asking the same questions!...=P
Thanks in advance.

Thanks...I did some tests w/o the picture...and made parts of a button transparent...and it seemed to work...I guess I'll just have to spend some time on creating the image as a vector based graphic for the button, I believe it could have been the png image over the vector. I dont know tho...thanks for the help, and keep up the smiles!

people would probably not ask the same question twice if it was answered the first time... have patience with people from whom you ask help.

If the button isn't working when you have it as a raster image, try creating a mc with a plain field as your button that sits directly over your image. then set your alpha to 0 on the field and you have an invisible button.

Thanks Bugg...never thought of that...because I know buttons dont have a good reputation on working w/ alphas, tweening, or any of the advanced stuff...=P...stupid buttons...;)

Oh, and I was being patient...I was just joking with him...he knows that...
