Busy tone when on a call

We have a customer on release 9.1 . This client wants users to hear a busy tone when they are trying to call someone who is on another call .

We have made only two line appearances and reserved the last call appearance but they are complaining that although this makes the person calling hear a busy tone when the other party is on another call but the the called party cant see the missed call to know who called .

Does avaya have fix to this ?.
 
A call that is not presented to a phone cannot be logged. To be clear I am assuming you are talking internal intercom calls?
I can't imagine anyone wanting this for outside calls.
Better describe the scenario in detail.
 
I mean extension to extension dial within the office .For example if a user calls the support desk extension and the support person is busy on another call they want the caller to hear a busy tone .
 
There is a specific feature (Advertize Callee Status on Busy) for that but you'd need to upgrade to 10.0 or higher.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
 
You should be able to have the caller register an autocb (auto callback) request. then the person is called when they are free.

I would change the client's mind on this. It makes to sense.
Users will probably try and transfer a call to the set and the caller will not get voice mail and your back to square one.
Have the second call go to the voicemail box. It won't ring the set and should be logged.
Internal users can try again later.
