Busy tone on analog trunks

Hi guys,

I´m trying to figure out why Hipath 2036 doesn´t send busy tone when line assigned stations are busy.

This is happening with analog trunks (TLANI6), I assigned a specific station for 3 analog trunks, and when this station is busy with an internal call an incoming external call from the trunks doesn´t receive the busy tone. The HIPATH 2036 tries to forward this call using the Call forwarding table, and if this table is emtpy the incoming call just ring instead of the busy tone.

Pleaseee....any advice...thanks

You can't give busy back on analogue lines because the internal extension is busy. You need isdn for that. Analogue lines won't be able to give back that information to the telco

oh, I see.
what can I do in this case ?
Because clients think that no one wants to take the call.
Each Hipath 2036 has an average of 4 users, all of them being part of a hunt group which is assigned on each analogue trunk but it isn´t enough because there are moments where everybody are busy and can´t take the call.

I don't know this system so take it with a grain of salt, but you just said hunt group.

In my experience a person calling in to a hunt group will usually not receive a busy signal under at least SOME conditions, especially if you use a circular hunt group. Sometimes the call just keeps hunting until one of the stations becomes free, in which case the caller will continue to receive a ring tone. Maybe look into what the overflow options are for hunt groups and try to set it up so if a caller hits the end of the group the call overflows somewhere else, or, I have used a cheesy-fake version of ACD in the past where the last member of the hunt group is voicemail and voicemail dishes out an announcement that everyone is on the phone followed by giving them the option to call back in 5 minutes or so, or stay on the line to go back to the hunt group - the mailbox timeout then sends the call back into the hunt group. This can work in some situations, but because it's not really ACD the person does not stay in line when they are getting that voicemail message and it IS possible for the next caller that hits the hunt group to win the luck of the draw and get right through while the original caller has to keep waiting....

To test to see if it's hunt group related just send the trunk to a specific extension and see if you get a busy when you call in.

Hi donb01,

I already tried assigning a specific extension, the same thing happened, external calls don´t get a busy.

There is something that I don´t understand, I disabled the RNA checkbox in a Hipath 3800 which has a E1 PRI, and it works. When you call to a DID which is assigned to an extension, and this one is busy with an internal call, external calls get a busy.

I´m not an expert in PBX systems, but I think that the correct would be a busy when extensions have a call in progress.

It will work on isdn pri, bri and E1 because isdn is a data connection and can talk to the telco exchange, but the analogue line only sends a ring voltage to let the system know the call is coming in and can't return a busy signal if the line is not in use

Thanks for your explanation obtsystems...that´s something new for me hehe...

Ok does exist a possibility that Optipoint 410 Standard or economy plus support multiline keys ??

Thanks for your time guys...
