I ve upgraded an ip office 412 to 4.0.10 and all the phone manager and softconsoles.the site has multiple vlans and none of the busy lamp fields work since the upgrade. has any body else had this problem

What VLAN is the IPOffice on?
Ensure LAN 1 is on the same VLAN as the data side of the site.

I had that same problem, but here was it the mcAfee virus scanner.

Does your inter-VLAN routing support Broadcast? i.e. Can you program it with a "helper"?

BLFs are carried by broadcast packet, which don't cross routers.

Take Care

Matt
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

Thanks for the replies, the site has multiple vlans but the IT guys wont let them broadcast because they say it defeats the object of having vlans.

Just ensure the IP Office is on the same VLAN as the Data network. Then use LAN2 to route the IP Traffic for the phones.

Job done.

Thank you for the help.
if I am understanding you correctly. if i give lan2 an ip address of the vlan and connect it then point phone manager to this ip address the BLF will work.
if this is correct but the site has pc's on different subnets is there a way around this..

Much appreciated.......

No LAN 1 needs to be on the same VLAN as your softconsoles/VLANS.

Lan 2 you would use for your IP Handsets

Ok this is how it is now.No ip phones.
ip office xxx.xxx.1.200
some of the pc's xxx.xxx.1.xxx
some of the pc's xxx.xxx.2.xxx
some of the pc's xxx.xxx.3.xxx
The phone managers on xxx.xxx.1.xxx work fine
the others work but have no blf and automatically log out after a period of time.

you wont get blf going across 3 different subnets with 2 lan interfaces.

obviously some of these subnets are in remote locations so they are traversed through routers. No BLF through routers im afraid

You will have to explain this to the IT company, well, don't do that, blame them, tell the boss it's the IT company's fault.

Ahhh, now I understand the environment your working in.
I feel the only way is as matt suggested.

ACA - IP Office Implement
ACA - IP Telephony
ACS - IP Office Implement
CCNA - Working towards.

Thank you. Now i know it cant be done i can stop trying..

For me it worked also on LAN 2 that was the DATA VLAN en I used the LAN 1 for the voice VLAN with their own DHCP-server that sent an option 176 with L2QVLANXXX (XXX VLAN id) and the IP500 as DHCP-server.
Make sure that your Firewall is OFF.
It was an IP500 version 4.0.1001

Greetzzz...Bas
