I'm trying to set-up Sharepoint Services for BOE XI on a sharepoint server (which doesn't have BOE installed).

One of the pre-requisites is BusinessObjects Enterprise XI .NET SDK is installed.

Where do I find this SDK to install?

thanks in advance

Hi,
It is, I believe, on the BOE XI CD - possibly on disk 2 ( but I haven't checked)

I've had a look on the CD, but can't find anything obvious that may be the sdk. Do you know the folder/file name?

thanks

BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Premium

Hi,
From the Docs:

Code:
By default, if you have a version of BusinessObjects Enterprise that includes
developer components, the BusinessObjects Enterprise Software
Development Kits (SDKs) are installed and configured when you install
BusinessObjects Enterprise.
The BusinessObjects Enterprise .NET SDK uses Visual Studio .NET or the
.NET Framework. If you are using an IIS web application server and the setup
program does not detect Visual Studio .NET or the .NET Framework on the
machine, it installs the .NET Framework automatically.
The BusinessObjects Enterprise Java SDK uses the Java Development Kit
(JDK). If you are using a J2EE web application server and the setup program
does not detect the JDK on the machine, it installs the JDK automatically.
After you install BusinessObjects Enterprise, all of the BusinessObjects
Enterprise servers are enabled and running by default. You can implement
custom web applications using Active Server Pages (ASP), ASP.NET
(ASPX), and Java Server Pages (JSP).
The following Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), along with
developer documentation, are included with BusinessObjects Enterprise:
• BusinessObjects Enterprise COM and Java interfaces
• Report Application Server COM and Java interfaces
• Report Viewer COM and Java interfaces
• .NET assemblies
• JavaServer Faces (JSF) tag library

So BOE XI has to be installed for the sdk to be installed. Do you know if it is possible to install the sdk without installing BOE XI?

thanks

Hi,
Not sure so try a custom install option from the BoE XI setup program and see if it lets you select just the SDK.

The install give me two options - client and server. I installed the client only and that seems to have installed the sdk.

thanks for your help

The SDK is an option of the BOE install. If you only want the SDK, look for 'Developer Components' and you will see options for Java, .NET & COM SDKs. Make sure to deselect everything else.

The 'Client Components' install will put all the web applications on the server and will include the .NET SDK because some of the web apps have been written in ASP.NET.
