I am just beginning to explore Business Views and Live Office and I have some general questions I can't find answers to anywhere. I am using Windows XP, Office XP, and Crystal Reports and Enterprise 10.
I have gone thru the steps and created all of the components - the data connection, data foundation, business elements and the business view. When I go to create a new report in Excel via Live Office all of the fields are listed together and do not appear to be in any particular order. They are not separated by Business Element name like you see them if you create a report based on the BV. Is there a way to have the BE name show up in Live Office?
I also ran in to an issue where I was creating a new Excel document using Live Office and left it idle too long. When I went to refresh the data it told me that my connection timed out. I could save the spreadsheet but now when I open it I get an error about not having provided a parameter. I can't find a way to get past that error. Is there a way to change the timeout value so that this does not occur? Or is there a way to reconnect to Enterprise without having to close out of Excel and re-open it?
I also noticed that once you go to open a report and have an error, if you say yes to open it without connecting to Enterprise and then you save the file it is simply a static file and you have lost your connection to the BV.
Any insight in to these issues would be greatly appreciated.
