Hi

I am not in a position to test but thought I would ask the question.

The new Business Scheduler in Mivb 8 that is associated with the call rerouting form as opposed to the Scheduler under Maintenance and Diagnostics.

I have searched through all of the help files associated with both but can't seem to find a definitive answer.

I assume that the Business Scheduler will override any schedules set in the scheduler has anyone used the new Business Scheduler and will it override any schedules set in the " old " scheduler

Thanks

I think the system day/night overrides the Business Schedule. Therefore the Scheduler would override the Business Schedules.
The help file on the System Options form, it explains it a little.

Help Files - System Options said:
Business Schedule Changes System Day/Night Service

Enter a number (1 to 100) to identify which Business Schedule triggers the system's Day/Night Service changes. If configured, any changes to the assigned business schedule are also applied to the Day/Night Service settings, using the time zone of the host MiVoice Business, as defined by the Date and Time form.
Leaving this field blank means that the system's Day/Night Service is not controlled by a business schedule.
NOTE: Day/Night Service changes imposed by the selected business schedule can be overwritten at anytime by any other method, such as: a maintenance command, an attendant console, from a set with a Feature Access Code, with a Scheduler.

Thanks sarond

Didn't spot that one. I was looking at help files related to the Business Scheduler not the call rerouting help !

Anyway it does seem pretty clear now that I look at it.

So the Business Scheduler and the scheduler are kind of mutually exclusive, It's one or the other can't have both at the same time unless of course they don’t conflict.

In this case I will have to eliminate the schedules in the scheduler and set Business schedules for all of the other extensions that currently use the scheduler for day / N1 / N2

I am using the scheduler to control internal guest room services like housekeeping, room service and dial " 0 " calls in order to send these calls to the required ring groups at various times. I now need to control incoming calls with a schedule that currently conflicts with the scheduler

Just a bit more work to do setting Business Schedules for the guest services internal calls.

If you tenant devices and set night service control to the tenant then the only the associated business schedule will apply

First apologies for not including platform type but I am sure you guessed most of it but it's a 3300 MXe 111 Mivb 8 with external VM PC

This deserves a star but one question.

The directory number in question is a console soft key so I assume I would have to tenant the actual console ext number from default 1 to let's say 2 then set the night service control.

Let me explain.

I already have day / N1 and N2 schedules in the old scheduler but these conflict with a new schedule I need to set up for incoming calls to the console " 5550 by the way "

My assumption was that a business schedule set for a DN in this case a console soft key would ignore any schedules set on the other scheduler.

I simply want to set a schedule to send incoming calls directly to the VM PC from 19:30 - 09:00 7 days a week but the N1 and N2 schedules for the guest room services conflict with this.

Sorry I don’t know why this confuses me but I would have thought a business schedule on a per DN basis would take priority over the " old " scheduler schedules for that DN

Thanks

You can't tenant individual keys on a console.

You need to terminate to a phantom extension and tenant that with a unique business schedule where the day mode routes to the LDN

Thanks the tenanting idea is something I may have stumbled across but as we don’t use it on a regular basis it did not come to mind but I will award a star for reminding me as it is a possible solution for this scenario.

In the end I have removed all schedules in the scheduler and set Business schedules on a DN basis instead.

The console soft key used for incoming calls is visible in the call rerouting form so set it with a business schedule and all works as expected.
