We are looking at using the new Microsoft Online Services for Exchange, and our business owner has asked about security regarding certain of his emails.

(We are currently using all POP accounts at an ISP.)

Of course, we are not interested in accessing his emails, per se, but he does have emails related to personnel and payroll, so he's concerned about how he can keep that confidential.

He is pretty adept himself with Active Directory and Exchange issues, however, and he could manage the online service himself to a degree, but because of time constraints, would like to have someone assist with routine maintenance.

Is there a way to configure the Microsoft Online Services (Exchange) so that we can perform routine maintenanance, but so that he can also protect his confidential emails?

just like zelandakh asked, what routine maintenance are you talking about? With microsoft online hosted services microsoft preforms all the maintenance on the exchange system. Thats the whole point behind the online hosted services is it takes all the hassle out of management out of the end-users hands.
