When I try to preview a report in business objects 11 I enter username and password and it just loops and comes back with message: The report you requested requires further information. Has anyone else encounted this problem?

For further info I got the following error:

Error Message: Error in File C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11\Data\procSched\gisvwo-sql01.reportjobserver\~tmp117c3df18da4c30.rpt: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 160 ]

It is trying to connect to an Oracle database.

I use Crystal Reports Server XI but I think it will work for you, too.

From the server, go into the control panel->Administrative Tools->Data Source (ODBC)->System DSN tab and add your favorite oracle ODBC connection (I use Microsoft ODBC for Oracle).

Hi,
A couple of things:

Try resetting your Datasource to use an Oracle Native Connection ( Oracle Server) , not ODBC.

Is your Oracle client( and the one on the Server running the report, if different) correctly installed ( in other words, can you connect to the Data using SqlPLus, for instance?).
