Can I have more than a single BUSINESS NAME on a MICS 7.1 with a PRI? This company has a few different divisions using different names. They ae using POTS line service and I have the Telco change the outbound CID name right now. It is time for them to move up to a PRI.

No, there can only be one Business Name. It is a system-wide setting.

This company has a few different divisions using different names.

You can ask the telco if it can arrange something for you.

For example, you could configure a different OLI number for each set. You could then have the telco supply the name based on the OLI number.

Multiple business names didn't show up until the BCM system hardware and not until release R6 running on BCM50 or BCM450.

The telco filtering the line to show different names is a possibility if they offer that service. It will probably cost extra, might be a one time fee charged any time you make changes or might be a monthly service fee for that kind of thing. So you set your OLI number on the set to be the contact number for that division and the telco applies a translation filter on their switch to apply different outbound business names depending on the number sent. It will have a default setting when you send an OLI that does not match likely for the main company name.

It is strange that the BCM limits the number of characters instead of using all 15 that the CO usually sends.
