Bus Settings on ASUS A7V333 Motherboard

I wouldn't have thought this was anything to do with bus speeds - at what stage during POST does it pause?
It could be that there is a 1 second delay for the hard disk to spin up - there's usually an option for this. Or it could be that your ROM drive(s) are not set to AUTO in the BIOS (default tends to be NONE).
