We have customer with BCM 400 3.5 who is looking to replace GATM8 with DSM32+ in Bus 6. Found the dipswitch settings in manual. How do we determine offset? Can it be found through Telset programming or does it need to be done through programmer (Browser)
And are we looking at having potential problems putting double density card in that slot?

A DSM 32+ won't need an offset associated with it as it takes a full DS30 bus for itself. Set the switches as double density on bus 6 and you're off and running.

Offsets are used when putting multiple GATM, GASM or DSM16+ cards on the same DS30 bus. It has no effect for DSM 32 cards.

So if looking at documentation correctly. Settings should be OFF-ON-ON-OFF-ON-ON to have DSM32+ be Bus 6.

So installed DSM32+ in bus 6 with Dip Switches
OFF-ON-ON-OFF-ON-ON.
First 16 came up but second 16 did not. Heres what is in system.
Mod 2. Dsm32+
Mod3. Dsm32+
Mod4. 32 asm
Mod 5. 8 asm
Mod6. Dsm 32+ (Replaced GATM8)
Mod 7. PRI
Mod 8. Empty

Any help???

If I remember there is somewere in programming you need to tell it is Double density.

I think thats under system, telephony resources, media bay modules, bus 6. Its been a long time since I've logged into a 3.X system. It should automatically ID it as a DSM 32+. If you connect a phone to the second half of the card, does the phone come up?
