What is the best method to do this. I have a staging directory on HP that I usually turn into an image and burn that to cd but I would like to be able to write the directory structure to the cd like HP does such that it sees the info on the cd as a software depot and automatically lists and has the software available for install.
TIA

I've seen this problem before and if i'm right, about what you want, this is the solution:
I write my CD's with NERO-Burning Rom ( ) on an NT4 pc.
I transfer the software-depots and all the files with
BINARY-format FTP from my UNIX to the local harddiskof the PC.
I use the following settings
File-/Directorynames lenght : "ISO Level 2 (Max of 31chars)" Format : "Mode 1"
Character Set : "ISO 9660" Relax ISO Restrictions : ( ! important !)
X : Allow pathdepth of more than 8 directories
X : Allow more than 255 characters in path
